Senator lauds Buhari on projects completion

Ashafa made the remarks during an oversight visit by the Senate Committee on Land Transport to the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, NITT, outreach learning center in Kano. According to him: “In consonance with our supervisory responsibility, we are very particular about ensuring that all the monies appropriated for the further development of this institute is properly utilized.” Ashafa who was accompanied by Senators, Osinakachukwu Ideozu and Victor Umeh all members of the Senate Committee on Land Transport were given a tour of the project site by the Director General of NITT, Dr. Abimbola Odumosu. This is impressive.” “It is important to note that this project commenced under the administration of President Buhari and same is being replicated in Ebonyi and Gombe. The Abuja outreach Centre commenced in 2007 but it was stalled due to inadequate capital releases.”

Gunmen shoot Anambra Pastor in front of his ChurcH

Awka- UNKNOWN gunmen Thursday in the heart of Awka, shot the pastor of a new generation church, Pastor David Elijah Chidiebere in front of his Grace and Power Divine Prophetic Ministry Chuch along the state secretariat road in the Anambra State capital. Incidentally, the church is located about 400 meters to the Secretariat Divisional Police Station and the incident happened at a time his church was packed full with worshipers and waiting for the Pastor to arrive for the day’s service. Nigeria unveiling first national sex offenders register

Nigeria has launched its first national sexual offenders register, setting up a database of those convicted for sexual violence in a move seen as an important step towards clamping down on abuse. The "Sexual Offender Register" will contain the names of all those prosecuted for sexual violence since 2015. One in four Nigerian women are sexually abused before they turn 18, with the majority of cases of sexual abuse in country are not prosecuted, according to the United Nations children agency UNICEF . At Monday's launch in the capital, Abuja, Sadiya Farouq, minister for humanitarian affairs, said "the register will serve as a strategy to stop those engaged in violence against women".
