BBNaija 2019: What lies in the future of Mercy-Ike's relationship?

• Reality tv show, Big Brother Nigeria has ended. But, the effect still lingers. 30 days have passed since the grand finale that produced Mercy as the winner of the "Pepper Dem" edition and we are looking at the evolution of her romantic entanglement with Ike. The pair fell in love on the reality TV show and there are no signs of them slowing down

• When the relationship kicked off in the big brother house, fans had a lot of mixed feelings and of course, aired their views. One faction believed that they were not a perfect match and Mercy would dump Ike once the show is over. The other faction thought they were cute together, the perfect Bonnie and Clyde couple.

• In the big brother house, the pair were always scheming (from theft to purchasing immunity) and encouraging each other to be the best versions of themselves. Mercy Lambo hated losing at any task and Ike on the other hand constantly spoke about how winning the game was the only thing on his mind (he eventually gave in to passion as he gifted Mercy his BetNaija coins to purchase immunity.

• The speculation about them not lasting gained further traction when Mercy revealed to Ike that she had "sugar daddies" before the show, and after their big fight which had Mercy saying Ike only cared about himself and the prizes up for grabs. Isn't that what got them all in the house in the first place? If those were his priorities at the time, they were not misplaced. Couples fight all the time so theirs was not any different.

• When Mercy won, the naysayers were back on their grind with unsolicited opinions about how her win was the first-class ticket to oblivion the relationship needed. Well, cue Mercy's grand finale speech about how Ike makes her feel and how much she loves him.

• So far, Ike has shown himself to be a very supportive boyfriend by accompanying Mercy to all her important events and parties. He travelled alongside the 'queen of highlight' to Owerri for her homecoming party. Ike even made a joke about them always being together and referred to himself as her handbag. Trust Nigerians to take this and run even if it came from Ike himself. Some have even twisted it and now claim his new job is carrying Mercy's handbag.

• A video has also surfaced online of Ike teaching Mercy how to pronounce some words with a British accent. Fans of the couple were beyond excited to see their favourites bonding in the cute clip.

• Just before you think the support is lopsided, Mercy Lambo has also shown support to Ike by surprising him at the meet and greet organized for him by his fans. This was a very nice gesture that he truly appreciated.

• Mercy rocked a matching hoodie with Ike from his newly launched merchandise in a new video. The clip shows Mercy leaning in to lay her head on his shoulder and giggling like a teenager in love.

• So far, the lovebirds are still very much in love. Their fans are solidly behind them and actively watching their growth as individuals and as a couple.
